Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the 8Score mobile application and the website 8score.fr (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. The Service is published by the publisher identified in the Legal Mentions.

1. The Service

8Score is a shared score sheet for board games and casual sports: create games, invite other players, and keep score together in real time from each player’s own phone.

2. Accounts

Some features require an account, created by signing in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping access to your sign-in method secure. You must be legally capable of accepting these Terms to create an account; minors need the consent of a parent or guardian.

You can delete your account at any time from the app’s settings. Deleting your account removes the data associated with it as described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users’ accounts, or the systems that operate the Service;
  • disrupt or overload the Service (including automated scraping or abusive request volumes);
  • submit content that is unlawful, offensive, or infringes the rights of others (this includes player names, game names, and any other free-text content).

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create in the Service (games, scores, names). You grant the publisher the technical license needed to store, sync, and display that content to you and to the other participants of your games, which is what the Service does. Content is removed when the game or the account it belongs to is deleted.

5. Pricing, advertising and paid features

The Service is currently free of charge. It may display advertising, and optional paid features (such as an ad-free tier or premium capabilities) may be offered in the future. Any paid feature will be presented with its price and conditions before purchase, and purchases made through the App Store are also subject to Apple’s terms. If advertising or paid features launch, these Terms and the Privacy Policy will be updated first.

6. Availability and warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We work to keep the Service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that scores and game data will never be lost. Please keep in mind that 8Score is a casual score-keeping tool, not a system of record.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the publisher’s liability for any damages arising from the use of the Service is limited to what mandatory law does not allow to be excluded. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under French law, including statutory consumer rights.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for accounts that violate these Terms, after notice where reasonably possible. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or on the website, and the “updated” date above always reflects the current version. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably falls under the jurisdiction of the competent French courts. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also benefit from the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence and may use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.
